Account Manager - Mobile Hydraulics/Power Transmission

This is a great opportunity for someone with a hydraulics background to grow a sales region in the Midwest (IA, MN, WI, IL, IN, MI and part of Canada).  This position would work with both distributors and OEMs, with a regular travel schedule of about 60% overnights.  

Industry leader in providing mobile solutions to off-road industries including construction, agriculture, material handling, forestry, etc.
The primary responsibility for this position will be to plan, coordinate and direct all division efforts at assigned accounts and/or distributor areas to achieve maximum product sales penetration while maintaining a professional relationship with each customer. 

Additional responsibilities may include: 

A. Identify customer applications, products, programs, etc. propose solutions to these needs to achieve Division goals. 
B. Maintains effective communication with customers on new or revised Division Marketing policies and procedures as well as periodic review of open orders, forecasts, inventory levels and other goals and performance. 
C. Coordinates with Customer Service department, special warranty agreements/procedures at assigned customers. 
D. Recommends price proposals/changes, product changes, delivery changes and other miscellaneous programs as needed for good customer relations. 
E. Plans, conducts or coordinates technical sales sessions on standard and new products and their applications for customers and or distributors. 
F. Gathers, identifies and reports customer and market information on new or prospective products. 
G. Gathers and assesses data on competitor’s products and their market penetration, and prepares reports for Sales and Marketing review. 
H. Maintains and updates product forecast, utilizing customer input and personal judgment. 
I. Prepares and submits itineraries, routing call reports, monthly reports and other sales oriented documents to the Regional Sales Manager. 
J. Maintain office and files for accurate customer performance analysis, follow up and good record keeping. 
K. Represents division at National, Regional and other Trade Shows and Conferences and reports appropriate related market information.  

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE DIRECT INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IN THE MOBILE HYDRAULIC INDUSTRY DEALING WITH DISTRIBUTORS, OEMS AND/OR USERS.
 
5+ Years in outside sales experience required. 

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience. 

Technical education and experience in mobile hydraulics is required to apply products in a variety of customer requirements in many marketing areas, such as mining, construction, material handling, agriculture, irrigation, and forestry. Also, technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical fundamentals is required. 

Ability to work and communicate almost daily with corporate engineering and manufacturing personnel to see the needed product from the conception stage through research and development, and finally as a working product on the customer’s equipment. 

Requires the ability to plan and conduct sales and technical product session and arrange, coordinate and orchestrate major program proposals with Purchasing, Engineering, Service and Management personnel at assigned accounts. Sales Manager must understand and implement personal time and territory management program on one’s own with minimal direction and supervision.
