Business Unit Leader - Hydraulics

Our client is a leader in the hydraulics industry, and provides the best-in-class products and solutions for their customers. The Business Unit Leader is responsible to lead the Sales, Engineering and operational aspects for North America. 
The successful candidate will be focused on regional, national and distributor customers for sales growth and winning market share. The position requires proven leadership skills and creating a winning environment with expert commercial, technical and market knowledge.  This position is also globally oriented, working with national and global sales teams and product business units.

Job Description
To devise and implement a strategic plan that enables sustainable growth and maximizes relevant market opportunities in a manner that is profitable and aligned with our client’s sales strategy and business targets. Through a developed knowledge of product offerings and the competition throughout North America, devise and implement an agreed upon plan of growth and market penetration. This includes increasing the profitability of new and existing products and finding innovative solutions for current and new market segments.  Raise awareness and provide support internally and to their customer and channel partner base as required to promote the product line.
Develop the market for their products and grow profitable sales, which is aligned with our sales and profit targets. Plan to include the support structure required to effectively achieve the goals and targets.  Holds overall responsibility for P&L.

Qualifications
Education:  Bachelor degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.  MBA is preferred but not required
Experience/skills:  
7-10 years of sales experience in promoting hydraulics products to industrial and mobile  accounts, and at least three years in a sales/operations management role
Inventory planning experience in industrial products
Strong technical background and aptitude
Above average communication and organizational skills including project management
Sufficient computer skills to organize data and prepare presentations
Understanding of Financial KPIs linked to operational impact

Additional Information
The work location for this role can be flexible but will involve extensive (approximately 50%) travel between customers, distribution partners and the production facility.
