National Sales Manager - Hydraulics

Our client is adding to their executive team, and seeking the best talent for a National Sales Manager position to manage, establish, and grow sales through manufacturer's reps and distribution accounts.  This position has no direct reports.
 
This position is focused on both strategic and tactical development of the company’s representatives and distribution network.  The incumbent will continuously review and refine the strategy in the changing market, and translate those to action plans.  From the tactical view, they are responsible for identification, signing, and sales development of distributors covering United States (US).  
 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
 
  • Maintain and grow existing business via reps and distributors
  • Review and refine present rep and distribution strategy
  • Collaborates with inside sales and marketing
  • Coordinate support activities to exceed rep and distributor requirements
  • Coordinate Rep and Distributor training programs
  • Integrate CRM system to effectively manage reps and distributors.
  • Develop and maintain sales plans
  • Maintain awareness of trends within accounts and industry for product needs
  • Understanding of market, competitors, and developing trends
 
                      
Desired Skills & Experience
 
  • 10+ years hydraulic sales experience in fluid power
  • Strong ties to industrial and mobile fluid power distribution markets
  • Application and design experience with fluid power systems
  • Experience with selling long term solutions
  • Competitive, entrepreneurial spirit
  • Goal focused
  • Strong ability to create relationships
  • Clear communication through written and oral mediums
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales goals
  • BSME preferred, however associate degree with hydraulics background acceptable
  • Fluid Power Certification a plus
  • Willing to travel at least 60% (Average 3 nights away from home per week)
